I bought myself a tub of “ISO Sport Whey” made by PVL Essentials a few months ago and thought I should get a quick review of it up here. Because it is just a simple Whey protein supplement there isn’t too much to review, but I will look at the nutrition facts, taste, price and more.
Taste Review – I bought the Rich Chocolate flavor, as I usually buy chocolate flavored protein (my personal favorite). To be honest I wasn’t too thrilled with the taste of the ISO Sport Whey protein. It isn’t bad but I’m used to some great tasting proteins including 2:1:1 Recovery and MyoFusion. Overall I’d give the taste a 6.5/10 for this review, but if you look at the nutrition facts you’ll see that you still might want to buy this protein despite it not being the best tasting.
Nutrition Value – The great thing about ISO Sport Whey is that the ingredients are very solid. 1 Scoop (which isn’t too big sized) is packed with 30 grams or Whey protein. You will also only get 1.5 grams of fat and 2 grams of Carbohydrates, making it a great choice for a protein when you are trying to “cut” or lose fat. There are 140 calories per scoop. 1 or 2 scoops and a handful of nuts would be a great, nutritious snack for anyone looking to watch their weight. I will give it a 9.5/10 for nutrition facts for the purpose of this review.
Price Review – For the quality of the Whey protein it comes in at a very fair price – around $40 if you shop around. You will get about 25 scoops of protein from a regular sized tub, which works out to roughly $1.50 for 30 grams of protein. Not bad at all considering it is a quality product from a good supplement company. 8/10.
My overall thoughts – If you aren’t too picky on taste and are looking for a high quality whey protein this would be a good choice. It is great that the product has nearly no fat or carbs, but you can tell by the taste of the protein. Maybe try ordering a different ISO Sport Whey flavor and you may get lucky with a better tasting choice.
I get the vanilla and its DELICIOUS!!! It’s one of my favorite tasting proteins.
I think the taste is ok but I can mix it all day and it’s still lumpy at the top.
Best I’ve tried is the vanila, taste great…NEVER had mixing issue.
Hi! Are there any acne issues taking this product?
I don’t see why there would be! I haven’t had any issues
One thing worth noticing is that it’s one of the few proteins out there that uses stevia, instead of sucralose, aspartame etc, which is usually found in other products. That’s probably the reason why its taste isn’t as good as other proteins out there.
However I’d rather have stevia than a slightly better flavor.
I find the taste really good, but that’s good to know they use stevia
